The Moving Flint Forward Leadership Summit is a project of the Moving Flint Forward (MFF) initiative, which was launched to help local businesses address immediate and long-term business development needs arising out of, or magnified, the Flint water emergency.

The focal points of the MFF Initiative are to provide financial support to small businesses, minority-owned businesses, North Flint development and activities that encourage tourism.

The fund to support this initiative is The Moving Flint Forward Fund, established by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, with the goal of bridging the gaps that exist between the various government sources of funds as well as address the business recovery needs that are outside the realm of health and human services.

The Community Foundation will administer grants to programs that align with the MFF initiative in aiming to improve the overall quality of life in Flint through fostering economic growth and diversification, increasing access to quality products and services, helping existing businesses and entrepreneurs create jobs, stabilizing neighborhoods and attracting visitors.
